@simvegas how deep do you squat?

EmotionalShredd @ 7:46 am #

he looks a bit like arnold schwarzenegger, only browner

marklosextremus @ 8:01 am #

@aipyor no you would do the opposite and make it worse

nenzi671 @ 8:17 am #

Jeff King Mr America / Universe loved the front squat for pure quad development. He would put his heels on a small block. By doing this it would angle his quads forward & put all the weight & stress on his front quads & rep out. He had some of the best legs in the biz in the 80’s. Kevin here is training for strength, real low reps like a powerlifter. He just wants to hit 500. Different than doing reps of 8-12 & trying to build size.

leverone looks great now

do you think you can change your body in one week by going crazy and working out hardcore for 115 hours in 1 week?

andr192 @ 10:28 am #

i did 250×10 last friday it was not hard i wanna go up to 300 or more thats my goal

phleb13 @ 11:24 am #

I think you’re confusing the importance of safe and affective technique with the rules of powerlifting.

MrKevinthehulk @ 11:52 am #

hey kevin are you just doing 4sets of 4 for legs?

rsery2000 @ 4:13 pm #

Hey Kevin, my goal is to squat 315. Right now I can do 225 for 4 reps. Lets do this!

TraumaER @ 4:49 pm #

They are as far apart as bench presses are to running.

TraumaER @ 5:16 pm #

He doesn’t need to realize, he knows. He is Kevin Levrone the uncrowned Champ!

PlanetMeathead @ 5:49 pm #

ljk8013 @ 6:34 pm #

aight kevin!!! im gonna do it with u baby!!!!

nenzi671 @ 7:12 pm #

Squats are harder to do than leg presses.

nenzi671 @ 7:39 pm #

Get in there & squat. They are so much harder than leg presses. Real men do squats.

Achillesreborn @ 8:07 pm #

I always perform pre-exhaust with leg extensions and leg presses. That’s the only way to ensure all fibers are completely stimulated. I never will understand why they say the squat is the most realistic and natural movement…when do we ever have hundreds of pounds on our weak spines in nature? Bodybuilding and resistance training isn’t natural. People do respond differently…true…but we all respond to muscle stimulation and if you zap a muscle correctly it doesn’t matter how you do it.

PeterTheOstrich @ 9:00 pm #

@Achillesreborn

Different people respond to different things.

Try pre exhausting your legs before squats. Do two sets of medium weight leg presses, THEN move into squats when your legs are a little tingly.

…But sorry dude, it’s been scientifcally proven that squats are one of the best exercises as it is one of the most REALISTIC and NATURAL exercises you can possibly perform.

It’s not the king due to “muscle stimulation” its the king due to nervous system stimulation
